Adult Grading & Seminar Sunday 18th July 2010.

Tenchi Ryu has been awarded Clubmark accreditation in recognition of our high standard of junior training sessions.

Child Protection

We take our commitment to safeguarding children seriously. We abide by the British Aikido Board Child Protection Policy (you can download a copy from the Downloads page)

All those in Tenchi Ryu who work with children are CRB checked for their suitability to work with under 18s.

If you have concerns

If you are worried about a child then you must tell someone. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of a child then contact the police or local Social Services. Devon Social Services has an Emergency Duty Service which offers an emergency crisis service for matters which cannot wait until the local office opens. They operate from Monday to Thursday - 5 pm to 9 am, Friday - 4 pm to 9 am and also at weekends and Bank Holidays. Tel. 0845 6000388.

If you are concerned about something that has happened at an aikido class then you have several options. In the first instance speak to one of our Club Welfare Officers:

Barnstaple

  • Vicky Shaddick
  • Kim Mathers
  • Carol Johns

Torrington

  • Nick Brooks
  • Martin Birch

Machlynneth

  • Jonathan White

Or if you prefer you can speak to the Tenchi Ryu Child Protection Officer Ray Charran on 07779 712 134 or Sue Ward BAB CPO on 02171 328892 (day) or 01271 343952 (eve)

The BAB Child Safeguarding and Protection Policy gives full details of our policies and procedures
